By taking the wiring diagrams from the factory service manual and wiring inputs to outputs where the amp is, or by just running new wiring to the speakers (and if you've got a powerful enough head unit to be worth bypassing the amp, I'd run new wiring that's big enough to handle the guff and not affect the sound any.)

Ok. So just run new speaker wire from the radio to the door speaker. And will my amp and sub work after bypassing the old factory amp. And it’s not gonna lock my security system up will it

Since I don't know how your sub and amp are connected, I can't answer that part. And I don't think it'll lock up the security system.

If you want to connect the head unit to the current amp, then I'd look for adapters and do the wiring at the radio / head unit end.

Since you've tossed an amp and sub in there, you probably need to check it all out on your side; I can't see what you've got or how it's connected from this side of the screen.

I have power every where but no sound through speakers. I plug the new radio in and it makes it throw a code for no bus. I in hook it from the radio and code goes away. I replaced the door speakers because they were junk with the head unit. Bought the correct plugs to plug into factory harness. Like I said I get power every where just no sound and that code stuff when I hook the new head unit up.

Does your radio support the CANBUS? Did you pick up an adapter set like the Metra 70-1817 adapter (Wiring Harnesses at Crutchfield )?

What make model head unit do you have?

Most require an adapter to connect the steering wheel controls; did you just wire the connector to the new stereo? (That's a no-no; that will screw up the CANBUS causing a NO BUS error since very few radios talk CANBUS natively ...) For that, you'd need an adapter like PAC SWI-CP2 Steering Wheel Control Adapter Connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to select aftermarket car stereos at Crutchfield ,

I don't know why it's kicking a CANBUS error then.

Might not hurt to bite the bullet, return that one to WalMart, and check out Crutchfield.

Basically, if they say it fits and works, it fits and works. And if it doesn't, someone with good knowledge of your truck and head unit can advise you what's wrong.

There's a few questions they'll ask you (via drop down menus on the web site) to make sure it matches what you actually have.
