How COE can you go?

Is there any way to make an old cabover truck not ride like an old cabover truck? I have an 85 GM Winnebago chassis lined up, a 5.9 Cummins I'm dealing on, and I'm looking for a 60's IH narrow cabover. I'm just wondering if there is anything that would smooth out the ride a little while still having the towing and hauling capacity of a one ton truck?
