When I bought my truck over a year ago the previous owner had installed an intake and headers but would I be able to tell if he did anything to the PCM? I was looking at it yesterday and noticed that there is a sticker on it that says "authorized software update." Does anyone know what that means?

my stock unit had that on it too.not to say thats enough info to make a guess on what you have.easiest way to tell is the top speed limiter is eliminated on the mopar hi-po unit. 135mph :biggthump

That's a dealer sticker and there a a number of updates they may have doen including what is called the Death Flash. It was for pinging and the update retarded some timing which also reduced HP. There should be numbers on the sticker. Take them to a dealer and they should be able to tell you what it was for.
