Anyone have experience removing the OEM hood ornament / badge / emblem... whatever you want to call it, on the '03 body style Dakotas?

I found a good looking aftermarket unit I'd like to install if the original comes off easily.

I can reach up into the hood opening through the hood release bracket, and I can feel one small post, but there does not appear to be a fastener. Leads me to think it may be held on with adhesive.

What do you guys know? No YouTube help on this one.

It's held on with adhesive. Use a hair dryer on the underneath side to heat up the metal a little and use your fingernails to get under and pull up from the outside. Worked like a charm for me.

This was several years ago and I replaced it with a custom made billet aluminum emblem with a big 'D' on it.
