Please, somebody offer some advise as I am at the end of my patience with this. My 2000 Durango 4.7 engine 4 WD has the same issue, cold start high idle at cold ambient temps. Now bear in mind this repair was performed during warm weather // I had to replace the PCM. After replacing the PCM a code informing me the IAC solenoid was bad, replaced it and all was good till cold weather set in. The cold start went directly up to 2100 RPM then to 1500 RPM for about 5 minutes then the engine arrived at operating temperature and the idle went to 700 RPM. I had ALL electronic components checked by a Auto Electric Professional and vacuum leaks, everything checked good and no problems found. I find it hard to believe this is a normal occurrence and is NOT good to shift the transmission into drive or reverse at 1500 rpm. My 2002 Durango 4.7 4WD goes to 1000 RPM then to 700 RPM no matter what ambient temperature is present.
