So I bought a 2004 Durango with a 5.7 hemi that threw a rod out the side of the engine, and I have a 97 360 magnum block on hand. Was wondering if I can use the 97 block with all the 2004 hemi parts and put it back in the Durango? Sorry I’m a total noob when it comes to the newer dodge engines. Thank u

Ummm ...

Sure.

If you have enough time to do the magic to make completely different engine designs mix.

Why not find another 5.7 Hemi to put in there? It'd be LOT easier.

(The 5.9 is based on the LA motor, based on the A motor, based on the original Baby Hemi engines from 1952 (!!!) ... the 5.7 Hemi is a hemi design based on the 3.7/4.7 engine designs, loosely, that AMC was working on that Dodge adopted later.)

Actually it was not based on the 4.7, because the 4.7 is overhead an cam engine. the hemi is a pushrod engine, and it is not based on the la either, the hemi is a long skirt block with cross bolted mains. So they are by themselves. I doubt if anything would fit.
