So I am trying to replace my brake shoes on my 2005 Dakota (build 11/2004).

It has a single upper return spring. I have gone to several parts stores and all of the replacement shoes are of the "two upper return spring style".

My big problem is that I cannot find a diagram that shows where the two upper return springs go. The spring holes in the replacement shoes are significantly different then the original equipment springs.

If anyone could post a picture or diagram and confirm that I can install these shoes in my 2005 Dakota that would be great.

Thanks

Thanks

I have that manual but the brake shoes with the single upper return spring were replaced by shoes with two upper return springs. The two upper return springs are significantly longer than the single spring and the revised brake shoes do not have the large round hole that the original brake shoes had.

All of the diagrams in the manual are for the one spring version.

Some people have said that one spring goes on the back side and one on the front side but I would like to see a picture or an accurate diagram.
