New here, just wanted to introduce myself. Just recently found this page after I bought a 03 Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7l for 750$. I rebuilt the motor and recently had to tear it apart again. So here is my question, the timing chain tensioner backing plates, does the right one need a plate? The original tensioners I pulled off both had plates, the replacement did as well. But the warranty tensioners for the right side don't come with replacements. They only send them for the left tensioner. I called a local dealer as well as dodge corporate and got no answer. I can't find anything online about it. Hope someone can help. Thanks guys.

I just went through my service manual and those aren’t even shown in there. Do those plates have a small screen on them?

No, they're just thin metal plates.
I can't find anything on them anywhere.
