OK I heard a news blurb on speed TV between shows yesterday that Dodge and Fiat are going to build a 7.0 genII hemi small block. Mainly becuase chrylser has too much capital invested in the Hemi and the LX platform to scrap either.

The engine (along with the other hemis) will be availible in the Ram and a Fiat/Dodge/Chrysler sedans and sports cars probably based on the LX platform.

They also hinted the new V10 might be a hemi design also with a Fiat mid-engine stable mate.

My speculations...
Could a Hemi I4 or V6 be far away?
Or could a V10 sedan be far behind to compete with the M and AMG's (Mercedes did design the rear suspension of the LX and its nice).

The LX platform is going to survive that means the 300/Charger/Challenger/magnum will survive along with the Hemi powered cars :woot:
are you talking about the pistons? the pistons dont make it a hemi, its the head design

Yeah you are right it is the gen 3 hemi, and also the aftermarket is full of 426 and 440 stroker kits... the 6.4 will be the 392 motor which has been around for a while in rumor mills for OE and as an aftermarket stroker kit for the 5.7 motor, and the OE 392 might have multi displacement system from the 5.7 which would be a pretty efficient high performance powerplant...

and also... now Ma-mopar has come out with an ALL ALUMINUM Gen 3 hemi block that can be taken to 468 cubic inches, six bolt mains, and is setup for a dry-sump oiling system. That would take on an LS7 any day of the week in a pound for pound battle...

anyone have 5k they can lend me for the block alone though? yikes...

There are alot of ways to do the bigger motors. The 440's are very unstable in my opinion. The gen 3 HEMIs do have air flow going for them though. I prefer the 392 setup with the shorter stroke. It is a nice compromise between inches and a good solid bottom end.
