Anybody have pictures of their turbo setups? Mainly need ideas of intercooler placement and exhaust route. I'm collecting parts now and haven't decided on an air to air or air to water intercooler setup. Looking at the front end I don't think I can fit a large enough a2a cooler for my power goals. Any pictures would be much help

:)

There is plenty of room to put a turbo an intercooler (if you don't run AC). At first, I had AC and mounted a small intercooler under the radiator but then realized I didn't drive the truck when it was hot. So I removed the condensor and AC and put a big IC in the front.

If you are going to do a stroker, use a 360 based because the bore size of the 318 makes it hard to find a good piston with the ring low enough and then a good ring for that bore.

Just get a set of stainless shorty headers and flip them side to side. You will have to make a 5/16" plate to move the PS pump up and out a bit because the shorty header outlet will hit the stock location.

What are your power goals? street? etc?

Here is a pic. It is a little outdated because you can see this pic still has the AC. Also, the intake is now 3" from the 2.5" in the pic. But it did run 10.2's on 10 lbs boost just like that. Had I had room for a big front mount Intercooler, I would have left the AC on.

I won't be running power steering most likely. I already took all the ac stuff out a long time ago. I always try to go as high as possible on power. Only reason I was thinking of a 318 base was I have several good cores and running 318 magnums sitting around. Would like to be atleast 500 whp to start and work my way up

Yeah only reason why I considered the 318 is several good magnum complete engines laying around. I can always pick up a magnum 360
