I have 2000 Dodge Dakota. I bought this truck with front end damage and it needs some work.

I was noticing that the front bumper is made of plastic and the 2nd part of the bumper is made of metal. ON NEWER models, it's all one piece and entirely made of plastic....

I was wondering if you can use newer model bumpers on this model Dakota???

Can you use an 01-04 front bumper (plastic) on a 2000 Dodge Dakota???
Do I just need to replace a bracket or two?

i dont know if it will bolt up, but if it will you would also need the bumper reinforcement...

You can use the one piece bumper on your truck. It will fit. The one piece just uses different brackets and has a few more pieces to buy.

More money than I intended... . . . .

My truck is all white, with two blue stripes down the middle, but it also has the gray two-tone painted on the first 8 inches of the lower portion of the car.

The damage was a large dent to the metal upper bumper and the lower bumper was ripped up beyond repair.

Now, I'm thinking of just getting a one piece bumper, with the "raw-textured" look, because I'm thinking I won't have to paint it this way. I won't have to buy brackets and I can fix the metal upper bumper

I'd go with the one piece bumper, you'll never have to worry about it rusting, but n the other hand if you want everything to be the same color the 2 piece would be better, the paint won't stick to the black plastic of the one piece

I'd just buy the Street Scenes or Stillen front bumper cover and not worry about fixing your stock stuff. But a '01+ bumper will work on your truck. had one on mine for several years.

Have you checked your locals craigslsit, or junkyards to see if you could pick up one there. Or at least maybe all the brackets you would need to mount the newer ones(which are lighter). Then you can pick up this for $220 shipped.

Ok my 2001 Durango metal bumper is crushed so its un hslevel looks dumb n UN clean. I wanna kno if 98 durangos bumper will fit so I can swap my 01 bumper out 2 the 98. R they swappable and what parts do I need?
