I am planning a frame swap project to mount a 56 Dodge C series onto a Dakota frame. I have a Dakota donor chassis, but its like has been up here in Wisconsin from new. So rust is a reality, same for any other donor I find up here. I found this info on the net for a complete Dakota frame:

Seems a very reasonable price for a complete frame, assuming it is in good shape. Doesn't detail how complete the frame is, such as does it include the front suspension. This being a 1998 frame it should be adaptable to all the frame parts and components from my 2001 Dakota.

For a $438 sale price, how can they afford to ship it half way across the country?

Exactly my thought. I typed in my zip code and it didn't show any additional charges. Unless that comes up if the purchase is actually started. Now, it is a used OEM chassis, but I found one from central Texas so rust should be near nothing. Certainly better than another Dakota anywhere up in the snow belt states. If I do go ahead with my Dak donor under a 56 Dodge C series cab/box it'd be worth it to get a replacement clean rust free frame from this source. Transfer my rear axle, front suspension from my 2001 Dak to a replacement chassis and start a build with a near clean chassis. I do have a set of tubular A-arms to lower the front end and I'd plan to use the better brakes from a later Dakota or Ram.

There was one on craigslist for around the same money,
I don't remember if it was on Chicago CL or "Tippecanoe" (Lafayette IN) CL. Would be closer to you from Wisconsin to go after if still available
Seller is in earl park IN. About 6 miles south of kentland and right off of US41.
