I have a 2000 Quad cab Dakota sport, My frame is super rusty. I bought a 99 Extended cab Dakota sport. I read somewhere online that the 99-00 dakota extended cab and quad cab trucks share the same frame. Is this true? Will the frame from the 99 Extended cab work on my 00 Quad cab?

If I remember correctly in 2000 they changed a lot of stuff on the dakotas and durangos but I don’t think that any of the changes affected the frame. The fitment also depends on the bed size. A quad cab short bed may fit on a club cab long bed or vice versa. The best way to see if it would work would be to measure each of the frames or just start the swap and hope for the best. If it did work though you would probably have to fab some mounts to make it work. Good luck.

So, I am looking at the Parts manuals for each year model side by side and the frame looks exactly the same with some minor add-ons differing. Are the Club Cab and Extended cab the same thing?

Yes, on the Dakota and maybe some other trucks dodge used club cab instead of extended cab. It is possible the frames are the same but just know there is a high probability that you will run into some issues and you will probably need to weld some stuff to make it work.

There are six different frames, 2wd and 4wd versions of standard, club, and quad cabs. Cab and bed mounts are in different locations.
