Don't be afraid to get that thing dirty, those "trails" my wifes Acura MDX could do.
Post some vids of your truck up to the axles in mud and I won't give you any more sh*t.
Sorry Dude, your truck is sick, but until you get it dirty I am not impressed.

didn't bother putting effort into defining your age lol, shouldn't it be a compliment to call you a kid since you refer to "young" after 44? lol and whats that last sentence have to do with anything? i was talking about i agree with you that that guy in the video drives his badass durango like a grandma.

The one and only reason for the last sentence is that it makes any 4x4 argument moot. Evidently you missed it..:funny:

Awesome thread. I read ALL of it. A couple things just to make clear:

1) Does the width of the wheel matter? I have 31x15x10.5. Can I make this happen with that wheel? Can I use 33s on that wheel as long as I at least use a TS lift?

2) Will it work even BETTER if I also put a body lift on there? I kind of want that too. I just really want 33s. I just don't want to screw things up trying to trim too much. It scares me.

33x11.5" wide works with the necessary trimming. Body lift is not needed if you trim. If you use body lift, no need to trim, but IMO, it does not look as nice.

canyonD - I am going to be getting 33's for my Durango as well but don't believe I will need to do any trimming because I am also getting one of those "IronBull" bumpers. Just looking at the bumper and looking at how much you cut away it doesn't look like I will need to do any cutting. Does that sound about right?

i have the exact same setup. 2t/s lift with the same 285/75/16 bfg ko tires. Havent cut it yet so they ru but my biggest issue is the stiffened suspention. Real unconfortable any advice how to reduce that. Also any advice on the cutting. Is there anything yu would a do different. Also did you block or shackle the rear. Any advice would be appreciated. Thnks.

I used the AR key/shackle 3" lift on my 99 with 275/60R20 (33"ish it came out to) with 1" offset in the rim, I have only rubbing on the front frame, need about 1/2" spacers to clear, rear of the front fender needed slight trimming. The ride is nearly the same, you do need a wheel alinement tho as it pulled the top of the tires in a tad ( Its hard of steering but not horrible) and you can tell looking at it head on. I plan to lift the body 2" (cutting down a 3" kit) as I dont plan to go any bigger then 33s and I dont wheel this at all.
Doing the rear shackles I did have to pull my hitch off to get at the left side bolt, I was very lucky to buy mine off my aunt (original owner) 3 years ago for $2500 with 125,000kms and our roads up here arent salted so it only took me and a buddy like 3 hours to do the lift and have the tires mounted on the rims. But if it helps I measured my front and rear, Front- 38.5" Rear 39" (Measurements where front the ground to the bottom of the fender above the top of the tire front the rims dead centre), fronts had about 1.5" of cranking left also, I did crank them right up but ride sucked and I hate trucks that have a taller front end, I like a little rake.
And I pulled the ABS out of mine, I have 8 months of winter and hate the fact that ABS controls how I slow down in older trucks. Newer ones 2008 and up do a much better job with ABS.
But I like the look of mine, 2" more and 1/2" wheel spacers will solve all my problems tho.

Ebay. I think its call a AD lift? Only problem I had was I had to remove my rear hitch to get one of the shackle bolts out and had to shim it a bit to fit right with some thick heavy washers. i dont even have mine cranked up much and it still sits much higher then stock.
