I have a 2001 dodge durango 4.7 liter 4x4 that had a small engine fire under the hood i bought a 2003 dodge 4.7 liter 2 wheel drive for a donor veh only to realize that the computer is different on the 2003 model. Does anyone know if i can swap the 2003 harness and computer into the 2001 4.7? Also will the 2003 harness have the connections needed for the transfer case electric shift on the 2001? The 2003 harness you got has a 4 plug PCM while your 2001 has a 3 plug PCM correct? If this is the case, you will need to tear both engines apart to swap tone rings which are located on the crank and the right side cam. A 2wd harness is different from a 4wd harness also. You have a big project on your hands, it took me a little over 6 months to find a new wiring harness for my 2002 4.7L. Its no longer made by the dealership and has to be ordered through there antique parts locations and runs about $1600. The best place to find a new wiring harness is car-parts.com.
