Them Lil Red Truck needds a new engine. 228,000 and she's real tired!

Any suggestions? I'm near Chicago.... :help:
What year/make/model and engine type do you currently own? Are you looking to refresh what you already have, or are you contemplating a complete drivetrain swap for additional power?

I thought I could spell/ type better.....

Right now it's a 5.2 with snorkel (EBAY special) and a Flowmaster Catback. It has low compression on 4 and 6 along with a slight miss. Mechanic says it "probably" needs a valve job however, if I do that, it may blow out the bottom end do to age/ miles.

I checked into a Jasper, 5K installed. 3 yr/ 75K warranty on parts and labor. I'd like to do a few "enhancements" though (TB, cam, headers, PCM) and that invalidates the Jasper warranty (Along with any other I've been told) so I thought I'd check other options.

Any ideas?

Talk to Dan Arcand aka Fastman. He is well know and does great engine work. He is in you general neck of the woods in MI. http://www.thefastman.com/

I also would recommend talking to Dan Arcand - he has built quite a few blocks for Dodge Dakota/Durango owners - performance parts won't be an issue.

4 cyl 2.5l modifications?

i have been all the way up to page 12, and thought this would be the right thread to ask my question...
i have a 1991 kota, and not in it to run fast, but would like alittle more power...are there any modifications to add on this particular engine? it is a 4x2 and i do have it lifted 3" (body) and have 30" bfg's on it...
just keep maditory tune-ups or can i add that turbo from the chrysler labaron? will that help or just waisting my time and money?
any recommendations would be appreciated...thanks
