I've recently begun modding my '03/4.7/4X2/Durango Sport. So far I've added the Intense Performance Stage III cold air kit. Butt dyno proves worthy. Better accelerator response and a bit more power through the whole range. Although it's all subjective because the power gain wasn't enough to truly know if I was just imagining it or not. Plus it sounds really cool when I punch it. Which brings me to my next subject:

I want to get enough power to break loose my rear tires from a standing stop...without employing the brake stop or dropping from neutral method. Is this even possible with a heavy Durango? Turbo's and blowers are out, for now.

I also have G&S Motorsports true duals on order.

bark'n tires

welcome bronks. I agree with black SLT. Your gonna have to pump some serious money into engine mods to make that happen. but hey that doesn't mean it can't be done. good luck

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. According to my research on this board and other web sites, and talking to Scott Q; from what I gather indicates loss of power might (still inconclusive on this) be caused by not doing additional mods (intake upgrade for instance) to complement the duals. Anyways, I'll report my findings here once I do the install.

Somebody out there must have A 4.7 D that can do what I'm looking for and hopefully they'll chime in.

That is true, but to achieve that, you are talking some serious $$$.

Could you be more specific. For instance, exactly what mods will need to be done to be within my parameters. Thanks.

I'm not 100% on this, but numerically higher gearing I'd bet would make that a possibility. Not sure why you'd really want to do that, since it will only wear out tires faster and make it slower in a race. That being said, mine with 3.55s and brake tourqing breaks em loose when brought up to around 2000rpm then launching.
