These ones I found are from a 2000. Would they even work with my 2004?
No. im going through this on my 02 that came from the factory with power, heated folding mirrors. the kid put some cheap ebay mirrors on it and one was broken, so i just snagged a pair of 5x7 power. they dont plug in.

If:
truck came with power, heated folding mirrors - you have an 8 pin plug
truck came with power, 5x7, non-heated, non folding mirrors - you have a 6 pin plug

dodge lists the mirrors i need as being only for 01-04 dakotas. i dont even think any daks/durs had the 8 pin heated mirrors until 01-up. ive had a HELL of a time finding what i need on ebay. i want the 6x9 heated ones.

they just told me that they switched these for the non heated only power smaller ones...
well, the only way to find out is to get them and then see if they plug into your truck. do you have the rear window defrost button on your HVAC control? thats what controls the mirrors, even if you dont have a rear window heat strip (like my 02) if they are indeed 8 pin and you end up not using them, ill buy them from you.

they must not have been what i was lookin for then, cause every set of mirrors that i need, i had bids in on ebay. i just picked up the drivers side about 10 minutes ago, $70. now i gotta try and win the passenger side, and the current bid is $61. thanks tho, man.

as long as the match your plug they will. and even if they dont, you can always just splice the wires and eliminate the 2 different plugs

now im not sure if 1) ALL 01-04 kotas have the 8 pin plug or 2) only the 01-04's with the heated mirror option had 8 pin, and then just power, non-heated mirrors had the 6 pin. but one thing im almost positive on, is that 97-00 ALL had 6 pin plugs. like i said, if you got a 6 pin female plug inside your door panel, your golden, the ones you got will plug right in. but if your truck is equipped with 8 pin, then your gonna have to get crafty and do some splicing.

and im pretty sure that the 2 wires in one pin are the ground wires for each motor, then the other two wires run power to each motor in the mirror. i couldnt tell you which wire is the up-down and which is the left-right motor, tho. i havent looked into it that much yet. i got my driver side heated mirror today, now i gotta get the passenger side one soon, hopefully.
