I'm thinking someone said that the 8.25 rear end has a differnet cover on the housing than a 7.25....is this true, is the 7.25 round and the 8.25 like a stop sign?

i didnt know there was a 7.25......i thought it was 8.25 or 9.25...i have the 8.25 and it looks like this...

Thats looks like a 7.25 from what I've heard, that looks nothing like the rear under mine, my cover is octagone (stop sign shape) spelling sucks. :sorry:

CRAP!! I would have SWORE mine was the octagone cover but I'm wrong, its round, and I bought a 87 Dakota the other day for the rear and its not going to work, welp I can still use the rear drums, rotors and caliper cores from it. :bs2:
