Hi all, i'm a 1st time owner of a 2000 dakota R/T..picked it up a couple of weeks ago. I'll try to keep it short... been running great, except for the CEL.
Had 78500mi when i bought it..after approx. 300mi the CEL came on before i had the chance to smog it...i'm thinking oh no!!, found out how to check, and reset the codes...that was a money saver. Anyways the code was p0420,and after resetting i had it smogged, and passed. The only reading that measured at max was the HC(PPM). Now 350 mi later the CEL is on again, i really hate thought of having to replace the cat..seems a bit premature,but hey what do i know..any thoughts would be much appreciated..thanks.
