I'm thinking about cleaning up the look of my truck a little bit and put a grill on it, right now it just is the stock grill w/o any inserts or anything, Been looking around online for different options,

Can anyone with custom grills post up pics please,.. IAny aftermarket complete grills.. Inserts.. etc Thx!

Well, you could always go for the steel mesh lathe option. For 8$ you could make inserts for your grille, lower valence and your hood. A fair amount of work is required, but I couldn't be happier with the final result on my truck. It kind of resembles the honeycomb grill on the rams 95-01. I primed and painted mine silver after first trying black. I didn't like black though, because you could barely see it with no contrast to the radiator. So I color matched it to the truck and it was much better.

I picked it up at Lowe's and it was a galvanized sheet about 4' x 8'. I'm not sure what the actual use of it was for (DEFINITELY NOT GUTTER GUARD), but I remember I had to fold it in half to get it to fit in my bed under the tonneau cover. I also bought some galvanized steel wire to secure it to my grille shell. with the cost of paint too, I bet overall it was under 20$. And I'm very satisfied with how it turned out and I'm glad I didn't buy a SS insert for more than 5 times what I paid.

Sweet man, I went today and baught the sheet from Lowes, Its actually intended for pouring cement?? .. idk

And this was the outcome.. I'm very satisfied for a $9.50 mod.. And its galvanized so it wont rust on me
So i chose to keep it the color it came, just because its kinda shiny looking, and if i tried to paint it, i'd want it black and it'd look like shit 5 months from now from rocks and bugs chipping the paint

This has nothing to do with the grill, but was another dress up project i did today after the grill

Turned out nice, I cleaned up the entire underbelly of the truck over the summer, and i always like trucks like ours that sit high enough to where dressing up under the truck can be pretty cool, So i wire brushed and put a coat of bed liner + today i changed the fluid, put new shocks and chrome cover

That looks great! The only other thing I'd recommend is spraying some clear over the inserts to preserve the shine. It definitely looks nice with the hood inserts matching too. My grill was installed after paint almost 8 months ago and it still look pristine. I'm glad you took my advice :mullet:

I wouldn't suggest black. it's hardly visible. Either go with silver or try to color match it to your paint. I had mine gloss black for about 2 days before I repainted it.

Billet painted black, stock shell with custom emblem mlded in.

That looks awesome. Dodge should have done that instead of just throwing it on the top of the hood.

Not to mention that the same technique can be used on other vehicles, even if SS doesn't build them for your vehicle.

Hmmm. Conflicting info. My truck is black. :nana:
