I posted this in the general forum but I didn't get a clear answer so I'll see if you guys can help me out. Gonna drive up from LA to the Bay Area tomorrow and I want to get the best mileage out of my tires. I ditched the factory 16" rims and tires for 17" R/Ts with 275/60/17 Falkens. The max psi for these tires is 50. What's the safest I can inflate these tires w/o overinflating them. Is 45-47 psi about right? Right now I have them at 40 psi. I appreciate any help, fellas!

ps: Anyone driving during the Christmas weekend, drive safely! :drive:

i`d have to say between 32 and 35 psi. i put 34 in my 275/45/17 nittos and it acted like that was all they wanted to take, the ride is good and the mileage is nice.
