installed a new clutch on my 97 dakota 4x4, when i pulled the old slave cylinder a whole bunch of fluid leaked out. when i installed the new one it wouldn’t click in unless i took off the plastic retainer on the hydrologic line. i got the power torque slave cylinder so it has a quick connect and they said that you don’t need the plastic clip to install it. so i’m not sure if that could be an issue or not. it also has a bleeder valve on top so i had a friend pump the clutch then hold it, and as they were holding it i opened the bleeds valve, then closed i after a few seconds and told them to release after i closed the valve back up. what could be the issue? i also made sure to keep the reservoir filled with fluid through the whole procedure. please help
