I have a 01 Sport 4.7 4x4 and am considering lowering it. I'm not sure if there is a kit out there for this kinda truck. I'm not at all into the lifted truck look. I'm ready to mod this truck but not sure where to start. Any idea how far this truck will drop with aftermarket kits?

I know you can drop it, not by much though, i'd think u'd hit the transfer case

I plan on installing 20x9's and am worried that it might look stupid because of its ride hight. Has any one out there lowered a 4x4 Dakota? Comments would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing against you Steve... but this site doesn't have the 4X4 drivers that www.dakotausa.com has.... if I were you, I would ask the same question over there.

you can lower your truck, via tortion bars and lowering shackles or axle flip

Yeah, you can lower it, but it won't look as good as a 2wd.....nor will the ride be any better than normal. The easiest and best thing to do is just sell it and get a 2wd that's 10x easier and better-looking to do, or don't do it at all.

Dude don't lower a 4x4 that is just not a good idea, i do not get people that pay the extra money for the 4x4 and then want to lower it.
