What are your thoughts? I have the 4.7 magnum 2002 Dakota, with the automatic transmission and 3.55 axle ratio. Best information I've found is that I can tow 5,150 pounds. The camper I'm looking at is 3,715 pounds dry. How manageable is this?

Depends on your tire size and condition of your truck. When loaded that camper is going to be very close to 4000lbs. If you are running stock tires with the 3.55s she will pull it with out question. However you are definitely going to notice its back there and should definitely invest in a trailer brake controller so she doesn't over run the truck. If have issues towing you can re gear to 3.92s or 4.11s.

I have towed about 4000lbs with my 02 4.7 3.92 gear ratio and 32 inch tires. The truck did fairly well when considering the size and category of the Dakota.
