Hey guys. I have a question. My 1992 Dakota has something like a vibration or buzzing when I am going at least 65 mph. The faster I go, the more noticeable. However, when it is being driven for the first time in a day, it doesn't do it at all. I also have noticed that the more I drive it in one day, the more noticeable it is when I get to the above-mentioned speed and even more noticeable the faster I go. I never get to 75 or 80 mph because I don't want something to break. I am wondering what is the cause of this. I had an idea that it was the tires but I just rotated them and it is still happening. The tires are getting worn out and one of them on the back, which was on the front is showing cords.

Replace your worn tires first, and have them properly balanced.

Then worry about the rest of it.

If one's showing cords, it's out of balance, and that's a good cause for this kind of vibration.

And WHY are you running 65MPH on such a dangerous tire ANYWAY???

The truck made the same noise and vibration when I first got it. The tires were ok then, but after I had it about a week, I noticed that the tread on one of the front tires, which they have been rotated for about a week now, was kinda lop-sided. The tread was shallower on one side than the same spot that was 180 degrees opposite.

Great news!!!!!! I just replaced the pitman arm on my truck and the buzzing/vibrating is 99% percent gone. Next thing on my agenda is to replace the tires. I believe that will take the rest of the vibration away and she will roll as smooth as a Cadillac. (Pun intended)
