Hello,

Please take a look at the pictures below. I have gone through various threads here and figured out that my 02 Dakota slt has the factory tow kit with class 4 hitch, Trans cooler and full wiring for trailer including the blue plug in for the brake controller under the dash down by the pedals.
I bought my controller and year specific wiring harness to just plug in the controller but the way the blue electric brake plug in was installed it is blocked by another wiring bundle. On all the pictures/videos I have seen the blue brake controller plug in is mounted on the side and very easy to get to. Has anyone else had issues with this mounting location? I cant pull it out far enough to examine it and figure out how to pull off the blue plug and I don't want to break it off. Can anyone describe the easiest way to disconnect it without breaking it?
Also while digging down there I noticed another after market looking connector and was wondering if anyone had seen something similar and could tell me what it is?

Thanks,
Ryan

Figured it out

I was able to figure it out. I didn't realize I could just unscrew and pop off the white plug it was mounted on which made it easy to get access to plug in the trailer brake controller. Still don't know what the other wire harness is for.

Yeah, it is hard to say what the other connector is for unless you have factory service manual wiring schematics. Only then can you tell what that connector goes to but your guess is as good as mine and IDK what that other connector would be for.
