Pardon my attitude - I jumped through the necessary hoops to get your parts to you when you needed them. While you're sitting there in the peanut gallery eating your popcorn, plant a big buttery kiss on my hairy white ass.
WHOA!!!! You can back your ASS up a couple of steps there BIG MAN!!!! I would be like the rest of these guys that's been waiting for over a damn year to get their parts if Randy didn't have the 2 caps I PAID you for sitting on his shelf as leftovers!! You've been jacking these guys around for over a year now and I don't blame them for being PISSED!!!!

If anybody else would have collected everybody's money in advance and kept them waiting for this length of time, as QUAD DAD said, you would have banned their ass!! Now just because you OWN this website, don't make you any damn better than anybody else. You still put your pants on one leg at a time, just like I do!!!!

1) Except for a few weeks at the very beginning of the group buy (prepping the spreadsheets & orders), I am not the reason why the parts took 9 months to get delivered instead of the originally estimated 3 - that's squarely on Randy's shoulders. The moment I had the final batches of parts delivered on my doorstep I immediately inventoried, organized, packaged, and labeled each person's package and shipped them out right away. I even sent each individual a photograph of their kit(s) via e-mail.

2) Nobody was forced to wait for this group buy with a gun pointed at their head - everyone was free to back out at any point. Two people did in fact cancel their orders because they sold their trucks during the wait, and they both had their money refunded.

3) With the exception of Amber's battery strap (totally my fault, and he got refunded), Bob's battery strap mixup (partially my fault, will get resolved with the PS caps), and Bob's washer cap (totally Randy's fault, STILL waiting for that to arrive), everyone received exactly what they ordered. Aside from the fitment issues (which is not my fault whatsoever), not a single person has come forth with any complaints whatsoever about the quality of the products they received.

4) This supposed fitment crisis is only affecting a small fraction of the total group buy members. Only 5 people have sent me their caps, and just this week Dave identified himself as #6. I already said that it was a mistake for me to open my mouth and tell Quad Dad that I would send him the spare parts I had before I had the details hashed out with Randy. The moment I had the official policy from Randy, it was posted on this board. I am waiting for a replacement cap just like you guys - as soon as I have the parts, you'll have the parts.

I'd send my PS cap back but I already did a half ass job polishing it. It's definitely not a machined finish on the top surface, but it's not a mirror either. It wouldn't match any others that he sells though so I'm assuming that's a no-go. I also wouldn't mind sending my coolant cap back since it's a Ram's head engraving and I just wanted a blank cap instead.

If it's allowed there is an easy way to put the machined finish back on the cap.

If you don't have a surface plate (doubtful) use a piece of glass a little bigger than a piece of paper. lay it on the counter. Take a piece of 600-1000 grit sand paper (depending on what look you are after) lay it on the glass and then lay your cap on the paper top down. Move the cap in large figure 8's for a while. Then rotate the cap 90 deg. and do it again. This will give you the machined look and find any high spots that were missed in mfg. If it's the sides you need done it pretty much takes a lathe to do that.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I don't think that'll work for me, there were visible circles left in the surface from the machining process.

I am trying to get everyone taken care of simultaneously (except mthandt because he's anodized, and I already said that), and I still haven't received Randy's package. I have tried getting ahold of Randy a couple of times to see if the package has shipped but as I've said multiple times he's a tough guy to get ahold of.

You're welcome to reimburse me for the dozens if not hundreds of hours of personal time I've devoted to this project over the past three years if you continue to be frustrated that I'm not moving fast enough for you.
It's not the problem of you not moving fast enough, you stated twice that you had the replacement parts and you were going to ship them, at least that is how I interpreted your PM's:

PM from March 13th:

I just got back online yesterday, am mostly unpacked now, will try to get these parts shipped off within the next day or two.'

You first stated that you had both the handle and P/S cap. Then you stated that you only had the handle, then 2 weeks ago you stated that you had the cap. All I am looking for is a straight answer not lies.

And I'll be #7... But do you have any idea of when we'll ba able to get the new ones back... (I think that is pretty much what we all want to know)
It doesn't matter when. The one you have doesn't work. Send it back. You'll get a new one that works when you get it.

Did you test fit the cap? Only a fraction of the group buy members are having this fitment issue.

The last time I talked to Randy, he said that he had five PS2 caps available. These first five caps are earmarked for the people who already sent me the caps. Randy said he has a few additional caps that have a steering wheel engraved on the top - if you want one of them I can ask Randy to ship one to me, otherwise you'll have to wait for group buy #2 to get produced. I don't have a fixed delivery date for that yet.

I tried calling Randy today to check the status of the 5 PS2/1 WR220 package, but got the answering machine.

Sorry, I meant to post an update at the beginning of the week but I've been sick and got stuck in Jury Duty. I haven't been able to get ahold of Randy for a couple of weeks now - left voice mails but no return calls. I finally got ahold of someone at the shop back a few days ago, turns out Randy has been on vacation. The person on the phone was not able to verify whether the package had shipped (I assume it hasn't) because Randy and his son have been doing the caps separately from the shop's main projects. I was told he would be back today, but nobody has picked up the phone for either of my calls.

I will keep trying!

I was able to contact Randy back on Monday - I had to go through the whole list of what needed to be replaced one more time (including the 2 new people who responded in the past couple of weeks who said they'd accept engraved PS caps), but Randy said that the parts were on hand and that he would try to get them shipped out Monday afternoon. If they don't show by Monday I'll start busting his balls again.

A box has arrived from Randy, but I won't be able to process it until tomorrow. I will do my best to get everything reboxed tomorrow night and in the mail on Thursday.
