I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota with 16" Rims.

Is there anyway i can put on a set of 305-70- 16's without a lift ?

Is there any cheap modifications i can make for the tires to clear ?

I've got 245-75-16's on mine and get occasional rubs at full turn lock and hitting a bump. Sway bar is what shows the rub mark.
I've got 265 70 r 16's on mine with stock wheels and mine don't rub at all but i don't think you could go much bigger there pretty close

285/70-16 is about the biggest you can go, I think. And with that you will have to trim the bumper. Someone will probably chime in.
285 on a 8" wide rim are you serious? That requires a 9-10" wide rim there bud. Plus it looks silly with a super fat tire on that narrow ass rim. It balloons out past the stock wheel..
Most likely 265/75/16 on a stock ride and 285/75/16 fit fine on stock wheels no problem
