Check engine light came on today on my 2002 SLT+ at 50,750 miles. Everything is running fine, oil pressure is good, temp is cool and the motor runs fine, so I was wondering if anyone knows the engine codes, and which pins I need to jump in the diagnostic plug to display them on the dash? I used to be able to do this in my 99, so I was hoping I could do it now.

Thanks
Paul

engine codes

I had the same problem on my 01 Durango. I did a search on the internet and found them. Just look under "Dodge engine codes". Also I've read that Auto Zone can read them for you and even clear them out.

To get a readout of the code, turn the ignition switch to the on position (without starting the vehicle) 3 times in a row. You will then see a code in the odometer gauge that will look like this; pxxxx
except the x's will be replaced by numbers.
Record the code. Then go to www.obdii.com, look up your code and it will give you a brief description of the problem. Or come back here with the code and someone will translate it for you.
Good luck
Tom
