Anyone have these headlights and have photos of them on the truck? I really like the older style Eagle Eyes, but these are projectors with HID kit as well. I'm just not sure if I like the headlights below the turn signal.

These are pics of by minilowz's truck, found under the Headlight Sticky in the Lights section.....

I think they are the same ones....

These are the ones I really like, and the description says "projector headlights" -- but they aren't are they? I don't see the projector-style screen in either bulb location. Am I mistaken, or are these not really projector style headlights? Didn't hskrRT have to add projectors to this model headlight? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm replacing one-piece headlights that I love the look of, but can't stand the low light output at night on. I want to make sure the next set is good looking AND functional. Considering getting the HID model of these or the HID/Projector style with the headlight below.

How hard is it to take them apart and paint them? Are you painting them to match your body color? I think that would look alot better.

pretty easy to take apart just need a blow dryer or heat gun and a screw driver there is a how to thread on here somewhere and I am painting them body color but my truck is black so you really won't see much difference on mine I also am tinting the reflector with night shades so it should blend in with the black paint

So I've decided to go with the older, Sabersport/Eagle Eye style headlight (with LED/turn below the headlight bulbs), but now I'm trying to decide if I should go HID or not. I read the article from this thread:
http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106276

I'm wondering if I won't be okay with the H1/H7 setup. I don't want to drive around blinding other drivers. I also don't want to get a setup that has terrible light output like my current smoked 1 piece lights. Anyone have HID lights in the older Sabersport/Eagle Eye setup. Is the cutoff okay, so as not to blind oncoming drivers? Was there a noticable difference from the H1/H7 setup or stock? Thanks guys!

Hello! First, I purchased the lights that you were first looking at. And not only were they crap (one halo didn't work, the tabs that held the adjusters in place were broke, there were no rubbers on the wires of one of the sockets, and the positive wire was completely missing from that socket) but also, it fit like junk. It would take a lot of work to make it work, which I was not willing to even attempt with how crappy these lights were. Now, I was told that there are many different vendors that make this exactly light.. so some are better quality and fit.. and some, well not. Although, I have to say I don't believe that. :blahblah: lol OH! and the "eyebrow" thing is a normal bulb... which looks STUPID with everything else being led or hid (cept the turns and high beam)

That being said! I'm also looking at the saber sports/eagle eyes now and asked the same question in this thread: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43251&page=7 But there has yet to be an answer. A cut off picture on page 2 (post #19) makes me think you could use HID.. but I'd really like to hear from someone that has them, or better yet- has HID in them. I know one person (I think hskr?) changed out the inner light to be a projector, but I have never been able to find the topic on the subject :(

Well, I've already bought my sabersports, and got HID so hopefully they work ok... But now I've managed to get the link to the how to for putting the projector directly into the sabersports.... http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97810 Hopefully I don't end up "having" to use it... but good to have it saved now just in case :)

Ah the topic of what is a projector and what isn't. A projector projects the light towards a certain direction, which is achieved by the sabersport headlights. Stock OEM (American) headlights have the lense that bounce as much light as they can everywhere. This you dont want for HIDs.

I have the CCFL halo (sabersport style) headlights in my dakota. I bought them from Ilovebodykits with the HIDs already included and installed in them. They are a sharp looking headlight, but there are some flaws. The driver side headlight fit like a beeze but it took some playing with to get the passenger side headlight in. Also, that being said my passenger side headlight is aimed up a bit too high, fixing that when I get a chance.
