why not just ask for the right tune?
why not just ask for the right tune?
I did, sent him an e-mail. I haven't ever done this before, so I didn't know
if I would have to give him the a/f ratio I am currently at now. But I guess not, so that will save some money, by not buying the gauge.
Thanks.
Just heard from Chris, he said don't use the injectors yet, they are not 24lbs, they are 39lbs. He sold them to me with the kit, but he doesn't use them until someone goes with a stroked motor.
So I am going to pull them off and sell them.
That would explain it then. You'll probably want to put some 24s in though. Iirc stock are 19.
Alright, I will sell the 39's. And get some 24's
I'm surprised that Chris would send you 39 pound injectors without asking you more about your build. But at least you can swap then out easy enough.

Yeah, it was just what the kit is priced out for at.
As is kit.
It's all good, read around a little bit.
Im going to keep the injectors and throw a supercharger on it, pretty sure.
Im going with the dodge neon injectors, that way I can keep my harness the way it is with the ev6 connectors.
What kit did you buy that would come with Injectors? Turbo? Stroker?

Well, the reason I got them is because that is what he just priced out the kit at. So, if I paid X amount of dollars, he sent my Y amount of parts that the kit was priced out at.
I did notice it said 24lb injectors below, which is interesting.
Well, nevertheless, I am happy now. I am going to keep them and save them for future add-ons.
I am going to look around, keep my eyes out for a supercharger kit.
THIS IS THE KIT BELOW:
You can see it at performance injection equipment.com

Did you tell him you ordered that and you must of received the wrong injectors?
Did you tell him you ordered that and you must of received the wrong injectors?
I did talk to him today. I personally decided to keep them, based on they are worth more money than the 24lbs', but not just that. I am going to put a blower on my truck soon.
Well good, are you putting the stock ones back in?
Well good, are you putting the stock ones back in?
Yeah, and I am telling you what, I have never had so much trouble with vehicles.
Every time I make a simple adjustment the truck doesn't want to run.
So, that is why I initially talked to him.
Rough idle, then super high idling.
Then I have to keep the gas mashed down for it to run.
Too much gas and it dies.
Rechecked all the injectors, they work.
( Stock Injectors )
I put everything back the way it was, and crap, it hardly runs.
Pretty pissed.
So, I talked to Chris, he said I need to add another injector o-ring, above the original lower injector o-rings in the manifold, to make sure it seals good.
He said he has had this problem before in recent run of manifolds, that the injector port was a little too wide.
So, I hope that this solves it. Pretty stressful, that every time I mod something, its like a major incident.
I suppose that goes with having modified the dynamics of the motor.
Either way it sucks.
But the compliments I get make up for it when it is running.
Oh, yeah and the speedo goes crazy, what is going on with that?
Thanks for your input.

Welcome to the "joys" of modding a dodge....

If you went MS3 for tuning you could just fix the tune to match your injectors...
Yeah, it's been a wild ride that is for sure.
Talked with Chris again, while I was at my truck.
We went through the codes. Me being a dummy didn't realize that not
having a properly connected temp. sensor would create any disturbance.
Well, it does a whole lot. He said, when it isn't hooked up or connected well, like mine was not, then it defaults to -39 degrees. So, it was throwing all kinds of fuel/air at it, etc.
Well, I was able to drive it to work with it just kind of barely on there.
I'm going to get a new one after work.
Hopefully this will solve most of my problems.

One thing that came out of this experience is, now I know that I can read my own codes. I don't have to drive to autozone to hook it up.
Well, it took everything out of me, once again; but it's alive.
Minus the fact that at street driving speeds, when slowing down for a stop light,
the rpm's travel all the way down into the 350-500 range. It sounds like it shuts down, it gets so quiet. But I am just going to leave it alone for the winter, because I am tired of messing with it.
It will settle up after you drive it for a while. Has to relearn the idle.
Mine was similar when I first flashed the tune. It would drop way off and then rev back up to the point where it would lurch a bit and than settle back down to idle. It took a few trips before it finally settled down
O.k., thanks, that sounds exactly like what it is doing. So it should be going away soon.
It seems like everything is twice as hard and three times as expensive when it comes to mopars lol.
