I have a '01 QC 4X4 Dak which recently has me questioning an idiot light on the dash. Every so often when I first start my truck the Airbag light will come on and beep for a few seconds then go out. Anyone got any ideas?

it should always come on at start up then go away ... so the only thing you need to worry about is if it stays on like mine..lol

and correct me if i am wrong guys...

I think you are right. The airbag system should always do a self-check at start-up.

sorry guys, but i know about the self check as soon as the motor is started, but the airbag light seems to come on a few seconds after the motor's been started and even 'dings'(like the sound of low fuel) at you when the airbag light comes on.....like i said before it usually only stays on 5 or 6 seconds then goes off. I've owned the truck almost 4 years now and it hasnt been doing this...

I'd rather buy the scanner than pay the labor, but it sounds like you need to have it checked out.
