i built an air intake out of pvc and a really expensive K&N filter, i previouly had the drop it. is it all in my head or is it actually possible the cold air hurt performance???

The cold air is actually better... But dont expect to be any faster with a new filter or intake.

I seriously doubt it hurt your performance. Why do you suspect it would have? How does the truck feel?

it feels sluggish, when i first put it on i went from dead stop and stomped on it until the speed limit, round 70 i guess, and i was actually bored it seemed like it was taking so long to get to speed. maybe its all in my head. BUT there are times that i like it alot, jus not usually, and it aint doing nuttin for my gas mileage

IMHO, the gas milage is a hit or miss type of thing. I didnt notice a difference in gas milage when i put my K&N intake on......but i did notice i was on the accelerator more often b/c i like the sound of the air being sucked into my motor.....lol

I think CAI's are more of a sound thing and looks then a power adder. I have a Mac CAI on my stang and it looks killer, but does nothing for performance. i have one on my ZX3 and it lookd and sounded so good, but again not much in the power dept. and as far as better MPG yeah right. That is why i just have the K&N drop in filter in my truck.

i might take it off and put the stock air box back on but i think ima wait until i either port the throttle body or buy another one. :banana2:
