I am about to order a set of of the HO Cam's and intake and a set of under drive pullies and i was just wondering ? If and how much will the pullies effect my Ac unit and so forth and about how much Hp can i expect to gain from the combo of pullies and cam's and intake ? Oh yeah i'm running a stock 4.7L

Check out KRC Performance . Click on their 4.7L links. They will give you some idea on what the camshafts will do at least. They also have many other mods to do if you have the money.

Actuly what i was wondering is if the underdrive pully would harm my AC or anything else if and when i run it under full load. I plan on getting my Cam's from KRC actuly SS i spend WAY to much time on there site as my wife could tell you. Thanks again :toast:

Oh, well sorry I didn't answer your question then. I honestly don't know about the underdrive pulleys. The last car that I changed pulleys out on was my '93 LX Mustang that I made into a 347ci stroker car. It didn't have A/C or a radio. All I had left for the motor to turn was the alternator and the PS pump. So, nope, I have no idea.

From all indications the under drive pulleys will not harm the AC. I have the under drive pulley on my 03 RT and it has not shown any signs of interfering with the AC or power steering. Some have seen ill effects with the alternator so far I have not had any problems with mine.

I did a underdrive crank pully on my ZX3 and I did notice that the AC was not as good as before, but nothing to bad, it still worked fine for me, i would not do the pullys myself, I have them on my 5.0 and the charging system suffers at idle so does the water pump.

If I'm not mistaken,... I believe there is only one pulley... and it's for the crank. They(pulley makers) haven't made much for us 4.7L folks. I could be wrong though... they may have got some other pulley's out by now.

As far as it harming your A/C.... I would say it might give you a decrease in a/c output... but nothing too noticeable. I'd say go for it.

if ya do the pulleys, only do the crank. your A/C and Alt will turn slower thus affecting output.

I have installed the crank pully on my 02 dakota and I have a digital volt gauge and it stays around 13.9 and the temp guage stays about 190' with a 195' thermostat. I havn't noticed anything different with mine

I have the ASP 501150 on my 2000 4.7L .. no problems with the AC. You'll need to order a shorter belt while your at it though.. I don't have the part # handy.. sorry.

I can't say for sure what the sole pulley performance results are. I also removed my stock clutch fan at the same time so it's hard to say what did what. It runs a bit hotter but the electric fan kicks in and cools it back down when needed. I get real nervous in bumper to bumper traffic in the summer though.

As for power.. you'll notice the voltage gauge moving a bit more than you are use to when going from idle to above 1500rpm. You may also notice a slight dimming with the lights at idle if running heat/AC fan, wipers, lights on and stereo going.. LOL

In my opinion.. the pulley is worth it if you get a good deal on it. If you are paying full pop (around $250) .. spend the $$ elsewhere.. it's not worth that for the results it gives. Just my opinion. Hope this helps!
