If I just replace the cat with a straight pipe am I going to get an check engine light? Any help would be great!

more than likely. but check to see if you have any O2 sensors around the cat, probably one right before it, and one right after it. that is where you'd get the check engine light from. if the O2 sensors won't read correctly, then it throws the check engine code/light.

i did that on mine and it never threw a code, guess i got lucky.
