For painting with a roller that turned out damn good, you'd think that it would turn out looking like a wall in your house
If you put pantyhose over the roller it makes it alot smootherFor painting with a roller that turned out damn good, you'd think that it would turn out looking like a wall in your house
It's the thinning out that does it. When you roll it on, there's a bunch of bubbles, but then they all pop and the paint levels itself out. Some of the guys that are doing it with gloss paint are getting some insane results, check this out, hard to believe it was painted with a foam roller:For painting with a roller that turned out damn good, you'd think that it would turn out looking like a wall in your house

I did a 50/50 mix, some guys have reported good results with 30% and 40% thinner. I was working horizontally with the tailgate, I think I might need to leave it a lil thicker when I'm painting vertically or it may run. The nice thing is that it's cheap, so you can experiment and you're not wasting a lot of money. I paid $8/qt for the paint (3 qts) and $9 for a gallon of 100% mineral spirits (don't use anything but 100% mineral spirits, and avoid the low odor stuff, just use the full strength stuff). You don't have to worry about ventilation, because you can do it in the driveway. So how many parts of paint would you put to parts or thinner? and what kind of thinner would you use? Maybe I should try that with my truck and save the $3000 on a repaint from a body shop
Yup, just a 4" high density foam roller, here's what I'm using:And the foam roller is just one that you can get from a hardware store? And I will have to goggle that, I have heard of people that used rollers to paint there car, i.e. Ricky from Trailer Park Boys, lol
You're limited to whatever colors Rustoleum has, they have reds, blues, yellows, etc., but not the factory colors. It will work on fiberglass, plastic, metal, etc. A lot of folks paint their boats with it.Trailer park boys is the best show on the planet lol. but could i do this with the factory paint codes? and on like fiberglass or plastic parts or no? lol
Yeah, that's why I'm doing it on the Sport with shitty paint and not on the R/T lol As a matter of fact, I'm dropping off my Shaker hood and tonneau cover tomorrow for real paint. But for a beater with crappy paint, this is perfect.shit.....if my whole trucks paint was messed up i mean id do it in that satin black. but i love intense blue and its not effed up. hmmm black bed cover, black flares, and black roll pan on my truck... i wonder what that would look like
Guy in Hampton is doing it for me.haha sweet, what place are you taking it to? i see you live in va but your in southern va so that be a drive haha
Definitely, he does good work.thats a 3 hour drive lol, post pics when you get it back!
