hey anyone got any ideas on finding a new door for a 96 dakota extended cab? i bought this truck 3 years ago and until recently i didn't realize at some point in the past the driver door had broken off at the bottom hinge and someone did a very poor repair and now either my door wont close or it wont open any help would be awesome.

Car-Part.COM is your friend.

So is HollanderParts.COM ...

Locate a boneyard near you with the door you need.

BEFORE swapping it in, replace the bushings and pin; you can buy the bushings from the dealership (genuine Mopar parts), or Dorman makes some.

Mopar part numbers are 4615216 and 4615311 (four each) for the bushings and 55075913 for the pin (used from 5-30-94 production date); Dorman's 2-bushing-and-pin kit (takes 1 per hinge, 2 per door) is 38388 .

(The Mopar bushing is a full length bushing plus a cap; the Dorman is enough to fit the hinge metal. Both designs work.)

I'd also get the welds freshened up before installing the door; you don't know how long it might have been run with bad bushings (which is part of what takes that hinge out.)

A&B auto salvage in Crossville, tn has several first gen Dakota's with good doors. 931-484-4311
