Hey guys I know the topic has been discussed many times... im VERY pleased with 4.7 and it runs GREAT but after my 4.7 rolls over to 100k miles (currently 64k) I was thinking about dropping a 5.7 hemi in there...but with a bit of a twist, its already got a old school stance but it would need a old school intake of course lol...im not the smartest guy with EFI so would it be possible to drop a carbureted 5.7 hemi into a 2003 Dakota..i know the trans would bolt up but how could I make it work with a carb...I know theres kits for the late model hemis to run carbs but what other headaches would there be? I would look into buying a junkyard hemi with low miles, put a mild cam in it, port and polish the heads, possible bore and stroke it, some nice headers If possible, and who knows alittle sneeze of nitrous would do me good!...but really a good number to shoot for would be 400hp to 450 just enough to let people know it aint no stock hemi but street able enough I could drive it every day...as for the carb, I know it probably wouldn't be worth my time to make it carbureted but hey its what makes me happy I guess, and I just love the look of nothing but a small block hemi under the hood no wires! plus I know how to work with carbureted motors..but EFI is alittle tough for me I guess lol as usual any positive comments are GREATLY appreciated!
