Hello, im putting my 4.7 back together with all new bearings, I got the crank installed and torqued down to specs. Endplay is good but when i rotate the crank back and fourth i can hear and see the tabs on the thrust washer move just a little bit. is this normal? I know i installed them correctly with the grooves out, plus one has a larger tab than the other to prevent mix up. anyone seen or hear of this?

Also does the nasty Mopar bed plate sealant dry? I put the bedplate on 2 days ago and some of the green ooze that sqeezed out is still tacky

I know mine kinda moved freely like that before I put the bedplate on but not after. Don't really think their was more than one way to put them in there but that doesn't seem right to me :huh:

Yeah, its one side only that does it, The skinny tab one. The wide tab one seems good.

I honestly can't tell you for sure or not if that is completely not how it's supposed to be but I've messed with two blocks now and I know neither of them were that bad... Sorry I can't be of more help, that's all I've got

Lol, ok I guess I will run it as is. I don't see a solution except getting a Mopar thrust washer. I have a King Bearing installed. And an extra Sealed Power one on my shelf

Goodluck! I don't really see why it would be a problem. As long as it is tight in there with the crank clearance wise and there isn't too much endplay.

Yeah the end play is good, and it only drew my attention when I rotated the crank back and fourth rapidly. But spinning it one way it sits in its place.

Hi. Right now I m rebuilding my 4.7 and I have exactly same problem without thrust washer. How did you solve this problem?
