I just got a 2000 Dakota Sport Quad cab and I want to make it a daily driver with enough power for the track. I primarily want to do autocross when I go to the track and I wanted to go for a 440 as it is one of my favorite engines, however my teacher recommended a small block like a 360 if I wanted to do autocross because it weighs less. What do you think? big block or small block?

Small block.

If you want 440CID, it's really easy to take the 360/5.9 to 408CID.

If you REALLY want to autocross, however, I'd pick something besides a pickup truck. But to each their own.
