I just came thru a heavy rain with local street flooding. The Dakota died!!!
What on or around the engine on the 3.9's commonly gets wet enough to kill the engine!!The truck is a 2000 model year.

I'd change out the plugs, wires first. Take a look at the cap and rotor, and the coil. Might want to change your oil while your at it, just in case.

Plug wires for starters. If you have a cold air intake water may have gotten into the intake. Depending on how much water made its way into the engine compartment the distributor cap may have gotten wet.
