I’ve been looking through the previous 3.9-5.9 swap discussions, and have yet to see this be brought up. Most are old, so I don’t expect a rely from those.

The distributor, am I good to reuse the v6 distributor and put a v8 cap on it, or is there a difference mechanically between the v6 and v8 distributors? My engine doesn’t have one, nor a throttle body, so I might have to source those, but figured I’d see if the v6 one works. Trying to save costs for other engine parts, but any info is appreciated.

That’s good to know. Maybe if the camshaft gears are different off the 3.9/5.9, that would render the 360s different

The pick up coil is triggered off six or eight blades depending on the cylinder count. Other than that I think they are the same. The trigger wheel is called a reluctor.
