found a 99 for cheap, so want to do a swap , i have a 98 dakota 3.9 since the other one is a 99 5.2 and everything is intact, will the computer work and do i have to change engine mounts and will it bolt up to my 3.9 transmission , thanks for the help

I'm pretty sure a 98 and 99 computer will work...maybe someone will confirm that.
Your transmission will bolt up, yours will be a 42re, the 5.2 commonly came with a 44re. The 42re is 'weaker' than a 44re, but will work fine, but dont be surprised if it needs to be rebuilt sooner than later.
I'm also pretty sure your motor mounts will work. If the mounts themselves dont work with the truck, just unbolt your old ones from your old engine, and put them on the 5.2.
