I have a 2000 Dakota quad cab with 3.55 gears and LSD my tire size is
255-50-15 would 4.10 gears be a good gear change for me i plan on leaving the factory LSD in there and have a 4.10 ring and pinion installed by a shop. thanks

Well On my Mustang I went from 2.73's to 4.10's and it was a night and day diffrence. The 3.55 to 4.10 is not going to be as dramatic as it was for me, but it will get you off the line faster. You might want to talk to RLG on here. She went from 3.55's to 4.10's.

I would not advise that gearing for that tire size...that is a 26" tall tire which is pretty short. It will drive, but you will run out of gear. Personally, I wouldn't go below 28" with 4.10s.

There are a few R/T guys I've seen with 4.56's and 28" tires, and they love it. I'd go for a 4.10 with that tire size, it's that or nothing IMO...

I myself went tothe 4.10 with a locker but I am also running a 295/40/20 on the rear. I noticed a little bit of a gain but wish I woulda gone with the 4.56's.

I have 31.25" tires (i think) and 3.55's. My brothers dak has the 3.92's and he is switching to 4.56's (he has 33" ProComps). Would it be advisable to just put his old 3.92's in my truck?

Anything would be an improvement over the factory 3:55's. If he has alot of miles on the gears you may as well just spend a little extra and get the gears you want.
