Check the throttle cables.....maybe caught in the air filter.
Dumb question - with this being drive by wire, is there still a kind of partial throttle cable to provide spring so the gas pedal returns, or is the spring back hinge contained all in this part?

The throttle cable attaches to the pedal and the throttle at the throttle body. I’d check that first then inspect your pedal as it may have come off the pedal. Inspect the pedal and work your way back.

Ordered (and installed) a new part ‘Genuine Mopar Accelerator Pedal 53032684AC’ and it resolved it. The springback mechanism was contained within the pedal unit.
