I have a 2001 Durango 5.9 R/T AWD. I get a popping noise from the sound system (not constat but enough to be a pain). Happens during radio, CD, tape and Sirrius play. The noise is some kind if interference, but I cannot pin it down. I thought it might have been from the cell phones but it happens even when they are not in the car The Durango has a Infinity system. Anyone else ever heard of this problen? I am thinking that I may want to replace the head unit. Can I buy any good head unit, will the speakers and wiring also need to be replaced?

Well i have a nextel and even when not on phone calls it does it, its when ever a signal goes to or away from the phone, like geting service or something. Also maybe the wires are loose? I wouldnt knwo that part but might be posible going over bumps sound messes up because of a bad conection. Thats all i know hope it helps.
