The Flat metal bell housing dust cover from the 4.7 has to be slightly modified to fit the hemi. Here's what I did.

Where I am pointing above is where it hits the engine.

you can see the round lip, that is what needs to be modified.

And here's where i am at currently in the process. Almost ready to reinstall the engine into the engine bay. but first, i have to rip out all the unused wires from the old TCM and others.

Before I pulled the trans out, cleaned it and installed to the Hemi.

And here's the hemi mated to the 45RFE, which now is a 545RFE because of the 05 Ram ECM.

Looking good xeonix. I'm glad to you're making progress with your swap. I also am doing a Gen 3 HEMI swap into my 2001 cc. I had thought about starting a thread on my build, but mine will be a slow project. Besides I'm not real sure how many folks follow this kind of thing. Just want you to know that people are using your thread for inspiration. At least I am. Keep the updates coming.

Ty sir, definitely will. I figured it would be a good idea to make this as easy a process as possible for others. I have some more updates to make soon, and I'll keep doing it until I'm done and everyone has the knowledge.

I was just looking at your photos and have a suggestion. You might want to seal up your intake ports with some type of tape. If you're like me anything you drop, no mater where you are, it will go down the open port. No too good!

Question. What are you using for gromets/bolts to hold your valve covers on?
I went with ARP bolts thinking they would come with the gromets. Nope! While the ARP are nice quality bolts, no gromets included in the kit. The remains of my orignal gromets are very rusted and the new ARP would turn to crap in no time. So I need to come up with some solution.

I have a 2006 Dakota with a 3" suspension and 3" body which really helps in the overall roominess to reach everything. Recently I installed a differential drop kit (eBay) to alleviate the stress on the front axle shafts. That might be a solution for us 4x4 guys and the oil pan interference. Tho I haven't gone this route (my daily driver) I do have a reman 4.7 sitting on the stand. Seeing this thread a little to late...

So you have two different options. Felpro sells a set of just the grommets or they come with the Gasket/seals set

The Grommets are ES72596
The Gasket Seals Set is HS26284 PT-1

I don’t think they make these for the 97-04 trucks, do they?

Folks, I thought that pan was my answer, but......it was too low for the oil pickup. Luckily I have a few Hemi pans, the new and improved one might be done today. I'll supply pictures and dimensions once finished. I could have "fixed" the one above, but decided to start over. It fits the truck perfectly!
I'd like to see the pics and dimensions on it for sure. Thinking about starting a swap on my 4x4 soon and the pan seems like the biggest hurdle.
