Hey, I got some Ram tow mirrors to put on my '99 Durango. I'll have to "Frankenstein" these on like you did. Uh, I guess it's doable? Imagine I'll do some drilling and filing, but what about the plastic trim, is that even close? Any tips appreciated.
I'm putting on these: http://www.cipausa.com/product/7310...endable-power-replacement-towing-side-mirrors
these are big ass mirrors but otta help on towing.

Finished mine, when on a Dakota, couple weeks ago. Fit of the plastic to the door frame was damn near perfect. I would strongly recommend using the foam filler from under the OEM mirrors to make it look correct. Also had to graft on the electrical plug to the new mirrors as the they did not fit the connector on the Dakota.

Need four very large fender washers to cover the mount holes on the door as by the time your done craving they are way to big and cut down the mirror mount bolts as they will be too long. But it is doable.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll give it a go this weekend. These big mirrors come with a metal plate (triangular with holes) for the inside. Maybe it will do for the big washers, but as long as the outside trim lines up I can hack and drill and hammer the rest.

Those plates ended up as landfill, I couldn't figure out how to put them to use, but your mileage may vary. I did use the foam blocks and the foam sheets to help seal between the mirrors and the door. Also the driver mirror is almost a direct bolt on fit, almost. The passenger well that will take a bit more hacking. Found my Dremal to be my best friend that evening.

Props dude. Seriously, props. Very well done. Love the fender. Always wonder why the fawk bushwhacker never made a set for our trucks???

I gotta say though, 5.9 cummins is pretty overkill in our "smaller" trucks, you are still limited by your chassis on the towing. Not that you'll use this to pull a 40 ft trailer, but still.

Great job man. Great job. <handshake>

I am currently working on my 2000 quad cab, putting it on a 1983 Dodge Ram 4x4 frame with a 4bt. Do you have any pictures of your frame to cab and frame to bed mounts. Right now with 4bt mocked in place and the cab and bed mocked into place it looks like I will have 6.75" of gap between the bed mounts and the frame. Also how did you adjust the radiator support for the narrower frame.
