I have a 1999 3.9 magnum with an automatic transmission.....does anyone know what model transmission it is or could be?

so the 3.9's have the 42re, 5.2's have the 44re, and the 5.9's have the 46re, and the 4.7's have the 45rfe?

Yes is the simple answer. Starting in I think 96, the trans' went from RH to RE and GenII Dakotas with the 5.2 seemed to have the 46RH. Bottom line though, GenIII Dak and GenI Dur were 3.9/5.2/5.9 with 42/44/46, respectively.

You'll also see 5-45RFE thrown around, the 45RFE and 5-45RFE are identical. The difference is programming that allows a second overdrive gear. Hemi Rams also use this transmission, among others...
